I'm a proud Gen Xer. I wore the jelly bracelets. I got the perms. I used the Aqua Net hairspray. On weekends, I'd wait for the DJ to play THAT SONG so I could record it on my mixtape.
That's why I was, like, totally stoked to learn about Kimberbell's Stitchin' Rewind: 80's Edition event. Now we can all visit the iconic 1980s. . .without jumping into a DeLorean to do it! 🙂
This one-day machine embroidery event is a blast from the past. Look forward to making three nostalgic projects: the Mixtape Zipper Pouch, Strawberry Gift Bag, and the Choose Happy Patch!
Each project features vibrant colors and totally tubular techniques. Trust me . . . Stitchin’ Rewind: 80’s Edition is where machine embroiderers go when they just wanna have fun! 😉

Event Projects
Mixtape Zipper Pouch
Kimberbell’s Mixtape Zipper Pouch “totally rocks!” Designed to look like a classic cassette, our zipper pouch is created entirely in-the-hoop with a jelly vinyl window and three alternate label designs.
Hint: Alternate labels include Made For You, Good Times & Sunshine, and a row of cheerful flowers. You'll also go home with a bonus size for an 8x12 hoop, just in case you want to make a larger one.
Strawberry Gift Bag
Made from a darling strawberry print, our Strawberry Gift Bag is sweetly sized for treats, lip gloss, and other small surprises. Top with printed felt leaves, close with a bow, and share with a “berry” special friend!
Fun fact: I was crazy about Strawberry Shortcake dolls in the 1980s. I even had a Strawberry Shortcake bedroom, complete with pink walls and red carpet. Anyone relate? 🍓

Don’t worry . . .choose happy! Our Choose Happy Patch is bright, beautiful, and the perfect touch for jackets, bags, hats, and more. Use the included brooch pin to add the patch to your jelly vinyl event bag!
Hint: You'll also go home from your event with an alternate Rerun Fun Patch (shown above). This vintage television patch celebrates 1980s T.V. with rabbit ear antenna and heart channel knobs.

If you don't live near a shop, no worries. Many shops offer this event virtually, which means you can attend from wherever you live. (If I'm doing the event at home, you can bet I'll have 80's music playing . . .) 🎸
