Piecing In-the-Hoop
One of my favorite machine embroidery techniques is piecing in-the-hoop. Why? Because it looks hard but is actually very easy! We use this technique for the traditional star blocks and the turkey feathers.
Traditional Star Blocks
To create this star, all you do is stitch out the template, place the applique fabric in the different sections, and then trim, fold, press, and stitch as directed.
When piecing in-the-hoop like this, you'll always have crisp lines and perfect points! 😍
Turkeys
We use this technique for the turkey feathers, too. Piecing in-the-hoop is really fun and our step-by-step instructions walk you through the whole thing. 😊
Also notice that applique maple leaf with decorative stitching along the edges! Gorgeous.
Dimensional Flowers
I love these darling applique pumpkins and tiny flowers, too. You'll stitch two sets of petals on Embroidery Felt and Kimberbell Wash-Away, then dissolve the stabilizer and put your flowers together!
Dimensional details like these really set a Kimberbell project apart.
Applique House
Since home sweet home is the gathering place for fall festivities, we absolutely had to include an applique house! This cozy home features a door of Camel Brown Embroidery Leather.
Seasonal Sentiment
A wreath of stunning fall foliage surrounds our "In All Things Give Thanks" sentiment. Acorns and leaves are made with decorative stitches and warm colors of Embroidery Felt.

Outside the Pillow
From the warm sentiment to each darling detail, this pillow is perfect for the Thanksgiving and autumn season. But if you don't want a pillow, there are so many other ways to use these designs!
Just think of what you could do with the individual blocks or quilting designs. For example, it would be fun to stitch the "In All Things Give Thanks" wreath on a tea towel and gift it with a warm loaf of pumpkin bread. Or a framed house block would be a lovely housewarming gift...
