Holiday Rope Bowls (in a New Oval Shape)!

Great news! Kimberbell Holiday Rope Bowls are here!

Here's an image of all of them together. Aren't they stunning? 😍 (Which one is your favorite?) Just think of the many ways you can use these bowls, from trick-or-treat candy and Easter baskets to neighbor gifts and more. 

You'll make the base on your embroidery machine, coil Project Rope with your sewing machine, and then add beads, tassels, and other festive embellishments. (Check out the embellishment kit below!)

Each bowl comes in two sizes for 5x7 and 8x12 hoops and also has a coordinating design to stitch on leather tags. Here's how it works!

Four Simple Steps

Our instructions help you mix and match design elements and have fun with the creative aspect of making the  bowls. Before you get started, you'll choose:

• The design you want to use  (There are seven designs, each available in two sizes!)
• The bowl size (Choose between short, medium, and tall options.)
• The bowl finish (Embellish with embroidered tags, loops, tassels, knots, beads, and more!) 

We heard a lot of feedback about the bowls we released before and Kimberbell fans have been loving our technique. (It's so much easier than you may think!)

Making a bowl is as simple as 1-2-3:

#1: STITCH THE BASE AND DESIGN ON YOUR EMBROIDERY MACHINE

Stitch the design and oval base on your embroidery machine, then remove it from the hoop. After this step, you'll also stitch a quick base reinforcement piece with Shape Form Interfacing.

#2: SEWING THE ROPE BOWL

Next, you'll take the base design to your sewing machine and start coiling Kimberbell Project Rope around and around, stitching with a wide zig-zag stitch. (Begin with a new needle and a full bobbin!)

Note: The image above is from our Happy Place Embroidery Projects collection, but the technique is the same! For this step, you'll also want a water-soluble pen and a fray preventative product. 

#3: FINISHING THE ROPE BOWL

Instructions include options for personalizing your bowl with loops, tassels, knots, beads, buttons, and swirls. This collection also comes with seven tag designs you can embroider on leather and more!

Digital Redemption Code

Now, here's a friendly reminder. Starting with Holiday Rope Bowls, Kimberbell embroidery files will be transferred digitally (instead of on CD or USB).  What does this mean?

• If you buy Holiday Rope Bowls from your favorite quilt shop, you’ll receive a physical card with a unique, redeemable code. (This card will include step-by-step directions on how to get your files!)
• If you buy Holiday Rope Bowls from our website, you’ll skip the step with the card and the code and go right to downloading the files from your Digital Library on Kimberbell.com. 

Either option works great and is very easy to do! 

When buying a physical card from your quilt shop, use your unique redemption code to transfer purchased files to your Digital Library. (You’ll only need to do this once.)
