Where do machine embroiderers go to make exclusive projects, learn new techniques, and enjoy the camaraderie of other stitching enthusiasts?
A Kimberbell event, of course! đ
Hosted by certified shops around the world, Kimberbell events are offered both in store AND virtually. If you've never attended one, here's just a taste of what you can expect!
Kimberbell currently offers four types of events: one-day, two-day, Spark Events, and Collector Series Events. As I mentioned before, each type can be held either in person or virtually.
Our Event Locator shows which shops are hosting Kimberbell events (and when). Click the button below to see what's coming up! We'd love for you to join the fun.
Don't live near a quilt shop? No problem! Our virtual option makes it possible for you to attend a Kimberbell event from anywhere in the world! (You'll just need to account for the time difference. đ)
Now, I've personally attended events virtually AND in person and I've gotta say...both formats are really fun. Let's take a look at a few of our events and the kinds of projects you can expect to make.
Kimberbell Spark Events only take about four hours, which is just the right length of time for someone who maybe can't commit to a one or two-day event. Although Spark Events are designed with beginners in mind (ALL projects can be made in a 5x7 hoop!), they're highly enjoyable for embroiderers of all skill levels.
For example, at our Red, White, & BBQ Spark Event, you'll "cook up" two projects perfect for a backyard barbecue: the BBQ Pig Apron and the Red, White, & BBQ Oven Mitt.
Attendees receive everything needed to make the projects, including the apron, the oven mitt blank, and all of the embellishments. If you've never attended a Kimberbell event before, you might start with a Spark Event!
Kimberbell one-day events are about the length of an eight-hour work day. Because there's more time, you'll make a few projects that are a little more involved.
For example, here are the three projects you'll make at our Garden Guild event: the Machine Embroider by Number: Pieced Bloom , the âYou Look Radishingâ Zipper Pouch, and the âWet My Plantsâ Mat.
Again, attendees receive everything they need to make these projects, including the zipper pouch blank and those darling pull flowers!
Kimberbell two-day events feel a little more like a retreat to me, as they're a full two days long. At a two-day event, you'll either make several projects or one big project.
For example, at our No Place Like Home event you'll make this gorgeous 22 x 22" pillow:
And at our North Pole Tier Tray two-day event, you'll make 12 small, dimensional projects for the (included!) three-tier tray.
As you can see, each event has its own unique theme and covers a wide variety of projects and techniques!
One Sweet Spring is currently our only Collector Series Event. Over the course of two days, attendees make a beautiful 18 x 22" wall hanging with a reversible banner and dimensional elements.
Because this is a larger project with a lot of detail, you may not completely finish this wall hanging while at the event. That's okay. You'll receive everything you need to finish your project at home!
When you go to a Kimberbell event, you'll always receive the Attendee Project Kit. Pictured below is the one-day kit from our Harvest Table event:
Kits include the embroidery files, the pre-cut fabrics, the blanks, and the embellishments for making the projects. You also receive Kimberbell Paper Tape, an event lanyard, and a collectible event pin!
Another perk of attending a Kimberbell event is the opportunity to earn the eventâs exclusive bonus CD. Here's how it works: when you spend $100 (or more) in the Kimberbell Popup Shop at the event, you'll earn the FREE bonus CD, which you simply canât get anywhere else.
For example, the event bonus CD from our Spoonful of Sunshine event is called Kitchen Confessions, which includes these six designs.
Fun, huh? Many Kimberbell fans look forward to earning the Event Bonus CD as much as they look forward to the event itself!
Whether you're ready for some Red, White, & BBQ or want to enjoy warm Summer Nights, your favorite quilt shop has just the right event for you. (And if your shop doesn't host Kimberbell events, please send them our way! We'd love to help them get certified.)
We can't wait for you to Experience the Joy of CreativityÂŽ with us at a Kimberbell event!
