Wallflower Mystery Quilt: Flower Block Alignment

Written by Jenny Lyman | Feb 21, 2025 3:39:58 PM

💐Attention, Wallflower Mystery Makers! 🐞

We love seeing how many of you are enjoying the Digital Dealer Exclusives Wallflower Mystery Quilt experience with your favorite quilt shop.  (Learn more about the mystery quilt HERE!)

Now, I have a VERY IMPORTANT REMINDER about the flower blocks in the quilt. Please make sure to align the block embroidery file with the very bottom of the quilting file!

This affects the January, March, June, August, October, and November blocks. Let's go over what this means.

Flower Block Alignment

Aligning the embroidery file with the bottom of the quilting file makes a huge difference. You'll want the stems sewn into the seam so the flower looks like it's growing out of the ground . . .and not hovering in the air.

Aligning the files this way also ensures that everything lines up beautifully in the final quilt. (When you go to sew all of your blocks together in December, you'll want everything to come together just right!)

Step-by-Step Instructions

So, how do you do this? Make sure to read ALL of the instructions before you stitch. This is the section you're looking for, marked with a ⚠️ symbol:

In other words, you'll need to use your machine to position the embroidery file right against the bottom of the quilted block. It only takes a few seconds, but this alignment will make all the difference in the final outcome.
