I Love You "Berry" Much Syrup

What's better than a red berry syrup on Valentine's Day? (I mean, they even look like little hearts!) 🍓

Ingredients
  • 1 pound strawberries, hulled
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons fine sugar
  • 3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
Directions
  1. Gather all ingredients.
  2. Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
  3. Put washed strawberries (single layer) in a roasting tray. Dust with sugar and sprinkle with vinegar.
  4. Tip tray from side to side, making sure all berries are covered.
  5. Cover tray with a cloth and marinate for 20 minutes.
  6. Put tray in center of oven and roast for 20 minutes. (The strawberries will soften but keep their shape.) As the vinegar and sugar caramelize, make sure it doesn't burn!
  7. Take roasting tray from oven and cool until cold. The syrup will thicken and become yummy!
  8. Transfer strawberries to a jar and close.
  9. Store in fridge and keep for several weeks.
