Swedish Almond Cake with Almond Custard Filling

The Winter 2020 Bella Box is packed to the brim with many delights: exclusive projects, fabric kits, embellishments, collector's items, cake...

Okay, not an actual baked-and-iced cake BUT a recipe for Swedish Almond Cake that's so delectable, it's life-changing. I'm not kidding. See the cake in the image above? Well, everyone at The Bella Box photoshoot got to try it and they all came back saying things like, "Wow! That cake!" and "Oh my goodness, that cake was amazing!" and "I've just got to have that recipe!" Yep, Swedish Almond Cake was the buzz around the Kimberbell water cooler for many a day. Honestly, it was just a little irritating because I wasn't at the photoshoot and didn't get to try it myself! But that's okay, I'm not bitter. Much. (I'm working on it.)

Anyway, the recipe for the cake itself is in The Bella Box mini magazine. And, like pound cake, Swedish Almond Cake is absolutely delicious on its own! But the cake is even better with delectable Almond Custard Filling and Almond Cream Cheese Icing.
