Kimberbell Embroidery Topping is a specialty stabilizer used with Tear-Away, Cut-Away, and Wash-Away in a variety of machine embroidery projects.
Embroidery Topping comes in a pack of white, black, grey, red, blue, and yellow colors. The sheets are a thin, smooth, pliable material (kind of like a plastic tablecloth) that's very easy to stitch through. You can use this stabilizer beneath any stitched area; it's a permanent topping that's meant to enhance your design! 😊
Why Use Embroidery Topping?
Embroidery Topping prevents stitches from sinking into fabric nap while beautifully filling in the gaps that can happen when light thread is stitched onto dark fabric.
For example, we used a sheet of white Embroidery Topping for the windows of this truck. Why? Because dark fabric often shows through lighter thread, and we didn't want our window to be flecked with navy.
See how crisp that filled area is? That's because the white Embroidery Topping is behind the scenes providing lovely coverage. (In case you're wondering, this truck is from our Main Street Celebration Bench Pillow.)
To use Kimberbell Embroidery Topping, simply place a piece down, hold it securely with Kimberbell Paper Tape, and stitch right on top. After stitching is complete, easily pull the excess topping away from the design.
By the way, you can use Embroidery Topping any time you want...you don't have to wait until instructions call for it. Just match the topping so it's close to your thread color and away you go!
As with our other stabilizers, Kimberbell Embroidery Topping is thoroughly tested on every brand of embroidery machine. You can be sure this product meets our super-high standards of quality! We use Embroidery Topping quite a bit in our Product Development Lab. (We love the colors in our variety pack.)
