Holiday Jar Toppers

Celebrate the season with Kimberbell Holiday Jar Toppers & Gift Tags! Simple to stitch and very giftable, designs include Santa, Elf, Gingerbread Man, Snowman, Reindeer, and Mouse in regular and wide-mouth jar sizes. Stitch in 4x4 or 5x7 hoops, add coordinating tags, and enjoy as gifts, ornaments, and more!

Let's kick things off with the jar toppers, then take a look at the gift tags. Remember, each topper comes in TWO sizes so you can use them on both regular-mouth jars and wide-mouth jars. 🙂

Psssst....be sure to read this post all the way to the end, as I'm including my tried-and-true Brownies in a Jar recipe AND its accompanying "Eddie the Elf" poem! 🎄

Now, onto the jar toppers...

Santa Jar Topper

Are you ho-ho-hoping to make a fun gift this Christmas? Look no further than our Santa Jar Topper! Here's the jolly old elf himself in two different sizes and in multiple colors.

So fun, right? Stitch his beard with fluffy fabric and add a jingle bell to the tip of his hat! All of our jar topper designs have a layer of Kimberbell Flexi Foam as a head base, so they're nice and poofy and oh-so touchable.

Mouse Jar Topper

"Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse..." Our Mouse Jar Topper couldn't be cuter, with applique ears and little heart nose!

Elf Jar Topper

There's a lot of versatility with our Elf Jar Topper, as this design offers three skin tone options and four hair color options. But that's not all...you can even add optional braids! 😍

If I'd had this design a few years ago when gifting my "Eddie the Elf "poem and brownie mix, you'd better believe I'd have used it. (Hmmmmm. Maybe this year?!)

Reindeer Jar Topper

From the tips of his antlers to his red Applique Glitter nose, our Reindeer Jar Topper is a festive way to spread Christmas cheer! (Just imagine a jar filled with cinnamon gumdrops!)

Gingerbread Man Jar Topper

Our Gingerbread Man Jar Topper is a real treat with stitched "icing" and a swirled lollipop. Add a bow tie or hair bow for boy and girl versions!

Snowman Jar Topper

Our darling Snowman Jar Topper is topped with a hat of Black Licorice Embroidery Felt. I love his applique carrot nose and sweet, crooked smile!

Gift Tags

Now, the jar toppers are fabulous all on their own. But pair them with our coordinating gift tags and BOOM! Next level. 🎁

This collection includes 14 tags, from presents and peppermints to gingerbread and more! Create them from smooth Embroidery Leather and personalize with stitches. You can even just write on them with a marker!

Here's a glimpse of the tags. (Cute, huh?) You won't believe how quickly they come together.

Kimberbell Holiday Jar Toppers & Gift Tags are coming SOON to your favorite quilt shop! I hope you have a lot of fun with these delightful designs!

And now,  here's a ready-made idea for you...

Recipe & Poem

Now, ready for a fun idea? Stitch out a few Holiday Jar Toppers & Gift Tags, fill quart jars with the brownie recipe below, and throw in the poem. Your neighbors will love it! (I speak from experience. 😉)

Recipe

Whisk 1 cup flour and 1/2 tsp. salt together and funnel into a 1-quart glass jar with lid. Add the following ingredients in this order, tapping jar to settle after each addition. (Note: some ingredients are repeated! Don't let that throw you; it's supposed to look striped and pretty.)

6 Tbsp. unsweetened baking cocoa
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
3/4 cup granulated sugar (yep, another round of sugar)
6 Tbsp. unsweetened baking cocoa (and another round of cocoa)
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
1/4 cup white baking chips
1/4 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Close lid, and tie the following baking instructions to the jar so the recipient knows how to bake them!

To Bake:

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 9" square pan. Whisk brownie mix in a bowl. Stir in 1/2 cup melted butter, 3 eggs (beaten), and 1/2 tsp. vanilla. Spread into pan. Bake about 35 minutes, until inserted toothpick has few crumbs. Cool. Yield: 12 VERY YUMMY brownies.

Poem

(Note about this poem: my husband and I had fun writing this together years ago. It's nothing that'll win any awards, but we hope it'll make you and your neighbors smile. 😀)

Eddie the Elf

By James and Jenny Lyman

’Tis the holiday season and Eddie the Elf

Stands thinking aloud as he stocks the toy shelf.

“Making toys is okay for a regular guy,

But I’d rather be baking! Cake! Cookies! Pie!

I’m gonna tell Santa I’m leaving today

To become a great baker—it’s much better pay.”

So he leaves the North Pole right at nine thirty-three

And applies for a job at the cookie elf tree.

But they turn him away. “You don’t have the permits

To work in our tree and to live like us hermits!”

So Eddie sets off, dejected and hurt,

His cookie dream crumbling right into the dirt.

Well, he doesn’t stay down. “I think candy is tops!”

So the sweet factory is where Eddie next stops.

But those jobs are all taken by short, orange men

With poofy-green hair. (Ah. Rejected again!)

“I’ll just work for myself!” Eddie nods his elf head

And he sets up a kitchen inside an old shed.

With pans, bowls, and spoons (and all of the fixings)

Eddie spends days and weeks refining and mixing.

And when he emerges, all happy and pasty,

He’s made perfect brownies. (And wow, they are tasty!)

We've bottled them up as a present for YOU.

We hope all your dreams for the next year come true.

(And Ed, with the money he makes from his food—ah!

Now runs his own bakery off the coast of Bermuda.)

THE END.
