Now, don't get me wrong! We are NOT getting rid of machine embroidery. Not at all. Kimberbell Punch Needle Kits are simply something extra . . .a way for you to enjoy creativity on-the-go.
After all, you can't do machine embroidery when traveling or while you're waiting at a doctor's appointment. But it's so fun to have busy hands in those places and feel that zing of satisfaction when making a project.
Plus . . .you can never have too many hobbies, right? 😉
The Kimberbell Difference
Now, I mentioned above that no one is doing punch needle kits the way we are. So what makes our punch needle experience different?
Since you asked (wink, wink), I'll tell you that there are six ways a Kimberbell punch needle project is different: the dimensional designs, complete kits, superior video instructions, reusable project bag, high-quality supplies, and the Punch Needle Plus experience. Now, when we say we provide everything you need to complete a specific design, we really mean everything you need: the tools, the yarns, the monks cloth, the video instructions, the frame . . .everything! It's easy to finish your project wherever you are, with no need to hunt for the right tools and supplies.
#3: Superior Video Instructions
Instead of the superior printed instructions that we're known for, Kimberbell Punch Needle Kits will include amazing video instructions! Yep, we'll show you everything you need to do to experience success. These videos will be just like a friend is sitting right next to you, walking you through the whole thing.
#4: Reusable Project Bag
Similar to the (much-loved) Attendee Project Kits from Kimberbell events, our punch needle projects will come in a darling, reusable project bag. These bags make it really easy to keep everything in one place so you can grab your project and punch on-the-go, wherever you are!
#5: High-Quality Supplies
A successful project depends on the quality of the supplies you use, and we've curated the exact supplies you need! Each project includes the right yarn, the right size of tool, the right needles, the right monks cloth, the right everything. 😊 We're invested in your success and want you to have a project that looks professional!
#6: Punch Needle Plus (Patent-Pending)
Okay, so here's how it works: if a project includes applique fabric and embellishments, it's designated as a Punch Needle Plus project. That just means that in addition to the yarn and monks cloth and tools and everything you get with a basic kit, you also get embellishments and pre-cut, pre-fused fabric appliques!
First Releases
Now that we've talked about the six ways Kimberbell Punch Needle Kits are different, let's do the fun part and look at the darling designs! Here's how it's going to work:
Because this is a new product, the initial wave of designs will be released to 13 shops, just to test the waters. These shops will start selling these five designs on November 8th (they'll also be available on our site).
Then, starting in January, all kits will be available through ALL shops, as well as on Kimberbell.com. Below are the five designs that will be released on November 8th!
#1: Punch Needle in Bloom
Kimberbell’s Punch Needle in Bloom design is buzzing with possibilities! Punch three fabulous flowers and two busy bees, then add applique fabric and a caterpillar button for darling dimension.
Note: This design is a "sampler" project that will teach you a wide variety of techniques. 😍
#2: Merrily We Roll Along
Kimberbell's Merrily We Roll Along kit features a red vintage truck hauling a freshly-cut tree. Punch the fir tree and snowy background, then add beautiful buttons for the car wheels!
#3: Snowflake Shimmer
Create stunning holiday decor with Kimberbell’s Snowflake Shimmer punch needle pattern! Our beautiful snowflake design is accented with shiny red rhinestones. (And look how lovely it is as a pillow, too!)
#4: Gift the Season
We’ve got holiday wonder all wrapped up with our Gift the Season punch needle pattern! Enjoy punching a darling present wrapped with an applique bow, then add dimensional holly berries and a gift tag.
#5: Christmas Morning
Deck your halls with Kimberbell’s Christmas Morning Punch Needle Kit! We’ve gathered everything you need to create a merry Christmas tree with applique presents and beautiful buttons. (Don't you love the bows?)
Second Releases
Now that we've looked at the first releases, let's take a look at the four designs that will become available in December (once again through the initial 13 shops).
#1: Snowplace Like Home
On cold winter nights, there’s Snowplace Like Home! Kimberbell’s punch needle pattern is wintertime wonderful with a friendly snowman, cozy home, and applique roof. (Add custom snowflake buttons!)
#2: Shivering Snowman
Our Shivering Snowman is all bundled up with a punched hat and dimensional pom-poms! Kimberbell’s kit has everything you need to “build” your snowman from start to finish.
#3: Bloomin’ Bee
We’re all abuzz about Kimberbell’s Bloomin’ Bee punch needle pattern! From the bee-utiful design to the dimensional flowers, our Bloomin’ Bee pattern is one honey of a project. (Couldn't resist that one . . .)
#4: Birdsong Bouquet
Create gorgeous gifts and decor with Kimberbell’s Birdsong Bouquet punch needle pattern! Featuring a variety of techniques and yarns of blue and gold, Birdsong Bouquet is stunning decor in every way.

Now, at Kimberbell, we are very, very intentional about our designs. That's why we've taken great care to coordinate our punch needle patterns with our machine embroidery projects!
