Craft Night Projects: Postcards, I Spy Game, Santa Stations, & Buckeye Recipe

Did you catch Craft Night With Kimberbell on November 20, 2025? Kim and Cassie accepted the challenge to create brand-new projects from the the beautiful blocks of the Sweetheart Street Bench Pillow . . .
And they did not disappoint.
If you'd like to watch Craft Night in its entirety, just click the video below (or watch it on our Facebook page or YouTube channel)!
Now, let's take a close look at each of these (darling, darling, very darling) projects that are all inspired by our Sweetheart Street Bench Pillow!
Cassie's Projects: Quilted Postcards & I Spy Game
Cassie's creativity never ceases to amaze me. Quilted post cards that she actually mailed? This is such a clever idea and so, so cute! Each stitched out in just minutes (and I just love the variegated thread).

But that's not all. Cassie also made the most adorable "I Spy" pillow bag as a fun game for children! We'll take a look at that in a minute. For now, let's start with the postcards.
Quilted Postcards
Materials Needed
- Kimberbell background quilting file of your choice (Cassie used Candy 2 HERE!)
- Postcard blanks OR cardstock (in either 4x6 or 5x7 sizes) HERE
- Kimberbell Cut-Away stabilizer, any weight HERE
- Kimberbell Project Batting HERE
- Fabric (larger than your postcard/cardstock piece)
- Embroidery thread
- Postage stamp
- Applique designs, if desired (Cassie used designs from the Sweetheart Street Bench Pillow HERE and Hoop Studio Sweet Treat Bags HERE!)
Cassie's Pro Tips
- You can use Flexi Foam instead of Project Batting if you'd like!
- If you're trying to stitch appliques from a Kimberbell bench pillow (such as Sweetheart Street ) on 4x6 postcards, you'll need to shrink the designs on your embroidery machine.
- If you're intending to mail your postcard, stay away from buttons, loose ribbons, or anything that can be easily pulled off by post office machinery.
- Cassie didn't have luck on postcards she attached a binding to.

Now . . .who wants to see a step-by-step tutorial on how Cassie made these postcards? (I do!) Just click the video below and she'll show you how she did it.
Pretty fun, huh?! Now, let's move on to Cassie's next project.
I Spy Game
As she explains in her Craft Night segment, Cassie's aunt made her a fun "I Spy" pillow when she was a child. This good memory inspired Cassie to create a Sweetheart Street version of the game!

- Hoop Studio Sweet Treat Bags HERE
- Tear-Away Stablizer HERE
- Kimberbell Project Batting HERE

Kim's Project: Santa Stations
To say Kim had fun with her Craft Night projects is the understatement of the century, because the woman had a TOTAL BLAST, as you're about to see!
Kim took four blocks from the Sweetheart Street Bench Pillow and completely transformed them into what she called Santa Stations. (They're kind of like a large mug rug and wowie, wow, wow.)

Materials Needed
- Sweetheart Street Bench Pillow HERE
- Christmas 1 Background Quilting Design (KDQ020) HERE
- Lines 5 Background Quilting Design (KDQ089) HERE
- Pioneer Woman's Green Snowflake Cocotte, Ainsley Red Mug, and Red Ainsley Bowl from her Walmart collection
We love your products, Ree Drummond! We're Pioneer Woman fans around here at Kimberbell. 😀 But I digress.
Kim also created an absolutely STUNNING Christmas Table Runner with the Ornament Applique 1 design (found HERE) and fabric from her stash. To see how, click HERE and go to the 41:00 minute mark!)

Cupid's Cupcakes/The Merry Mug
It's amazing how one block can be changed in oh-so-many ways. Kim first took the Cupid's Cupcakes block from Sweetheart Street and changed it to a hot cocoa stand: The Merry Mug!
Here's how the original block looks:

. . .and here's how the cart looks as The Merry Mug! (For details on how Kim changed the font, please watch the Craft Night video and go to the 42:15 minutes mark.)

Kim's Pro Tips
Here's the list of products Kim used! Now, please note that the Cozy Winter Buttons were discontinued years ago, but a shop may still have some? Who knows? It never hurts to ask . . .

I just love how The Merry Mug cart came together. So very merry! Now, let's see what else Kim made.
Grandma's House/Gingerbread House
Kim took the Grandma's House block from Sweetheart Street, which originally looks like this:

. . .and she changed it to a fun and festive gingerbread house! Same block, new holiday look. 🎄
