As a young girl, my favorite thing to do on Saturday afternoons (when chores were done, of course) was to hop on my bike and pedal to the Carnegie Library. I'd come home with a big stack of books to devour . . .along with a brown bag of penny candy from the drugstore. (It was right by the library and one must have snacks!)
