Being the Elf (Plus Kimberbell Christmas Fudge Recipe)

It's the season of giving, and nothing’s more fun than being one of Santa’s helpers (aka elves)! Are you looking for ways to give, serve, and lift this Christmas? We've gathered some ideas below!

Ways to Be the Elf 

  1. Write an encouraging note.
  2. Participate in Sub for Santa or local giving trees.
  3. Leave surprises on someone's porch for the 12 Days of Christmas.
  4. Volunteer at a soup kitchen.
  5. Donate canned items to your food bank.
  6. Babysit someone's kids (for free).
  7. Offer someone a ride.
  8. Volunteer at church.
  9. Collect and donate items for refugees.
  10. Listen
  11. Deliver a meal.
  12. Work with a nonprofit organization.
  13. Make a Kimberbear and donate to a children's hospital. (Pattern is FREE!)
  14. Go caroling at a rest home.
  15. Hold the door for the person behind you.
  16. Shovel snow from your neighbor's driveway.
  17. Pick up trash and throw it away.
  18. Donate money to a charity.
  19. Apologize and make peace.
  20. Give sincere compliments and encouragement.
  21. Talk to someone who looks out of place.
  22. Offer your seat on the bus or train.
  23. Surprise someone with freshly-baked treats.
  24. Send a text to someone you're thinking about.
  25. Visit someone who's lonely.
  26. Sincerely thank every veteran you meet.
  27. Let cars in front of you on the highway.
  28. Return shopping carts to designated areas.
  29. Donate blood.
  30. Smile at everyone you see.
  31. Pray for others. 

Some of these might sound small or silly, but little things can make a BIG difference. (Remember, elves are little, too!) 😊

Kimberbell Christmas Fudge

Now, all this talk about elves makes me think of fudge.  This Kimberbell Christmas Fudge recipe is minty and lovely and delightful in every way. Enjoy! 

Ingredients
  • 16 oz. white chocolate (almond bark or white chocolate chips)
  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened 
  • 1 tsp. peppermint extract
  • 1 cup crushed candy canes
Instructions
  1. Line an 8x8 pan with wax or parchment paper and set aside. 
  2. Melt white chocolate, butter, and condensed milk in a double boiler over medium heat, stirring constantly until melted. Remove from heat.
  3. Add peppermint extract and ½ of the crushed candy canes.
  4. Pour into your prepared pan and top with remaining candy canes.
  5. Chill for several hours or overnight.
  6. Cut into squares and serve.
  7. Love every bite! 
  8. Crave more.
  9. Make another batch to share. ❤️
